I am quite tall (6″4′) so, I would have to be able to raise my main desk pretty high in order to put a MIDI keyboard or keyboard synth on a shelf underneath the main desk and then raise my chair high enough to put me at the correct position for working. I will put those on a pair of speaker stand right behind the computer monitors with the speakers facing down at me just over the big screens. Right now, I am headphones only but, sometime next year, I will be able to finally purchase a decent pair of mixing monitors. My MIDI controller is just to my left on a my old, wooden desk at a 90° angle from me (along with my printer and medications), and my home-build Windows tower to the left of me under my main desk with a BluRay burner and audio interface on top of that. I have two, 43″ monitors (bad eyes), my Hidrasynth, my computer keyboard, and my Da Vinci Resolve Speed Editor mini keyboard for video editing in the front. I could’ve used old desks but they were way to small and even if I tried to fit 2 on each side of the studio, the legs would’ve been a pain (and I didn’t have matching desks). This was towards the end of building out my studio ( you can read that post here), so I was maxed out and needed to spend as little as possible but keep it super functional. The moment you sit aboard you know you’ve never felt like this before. That is why we’re producing a work of art. We never wanted to produce just another production desk. That desk did not exist… at least not in my budget. State-of-the-art designer studio furniture for home and professional use. The idea came out of a need for the following:Ī need an extra long worktop that did not existĪ need for something pretty that i’d also be okay sharing all of the time (let’s be honest this was at the top of the priority list) However, if you need access to a runtime to run, build, or debug your code, you want to use platform features such as a terminal, or you want to run extensions. Every time I share the oversized desks that Ryan and I created for my backyard studio, I get so many questions on how we did it.

Neither CVS nor Walgreens answered how many employees are assigned to the vaccinations in Illinois long-term care sites. JB Pritzker’s administration and the pharmacies, meantime, are blaming each other for the slow pace of nursing-home vaccinations.Ī statement from IDPH spokeswoman Melaney Arnold said the vaccine doses “are available to the pharmacy partners as soon as their staff schedules visits” to the nursing homes.Īrnold also tied the vaccination pace to CVS and Walgreens hiring: “Pharmacy partners are working to increase their staffing so that available doses can be administered more quickly.” Vaccination delays are particularly dangerous as a more contagious strain of the virus pops up across the United States, Hershow said. As in the past, those fatalities made up about half of the state’s total coronavirus deaths during the week. Their residents accounted for 1,705 coronavirus infections and 277 deaths recorded by IDPH during the week that ended Friday. Illinois nursing homes continue to play an outsize role in the COVID-19 crisis. “It doesn’t seem like it should be as logistically difficult as the general population.”ĬVS and Walgreens are showing they “don’t have the capacity to move quicker,” said Shaba Andrich, vice president of a Service Employees International Union branch that represents workers at nearly 150 long-term care sites in Illinois, mostly skilled-nursing facilities. “You have a captive population in these facilities,” said Hershow, who serves on a team advising IDPH on its COVID-19 responses. Ronald Hershow, who directs epidemiology and biostatistics in the University of Illinois at Chicago’s School of Public Health. Vaccinating that group should not be such a heavy lift, said Dr. Monday’s Illinois Department of Public Health posting, however, shows the pharmacy chains have used just 20.1% of the doses allocated for nursing-home residents and staffers - an allocation that falls far short of the doses needed to give two shots to each of the estimated 360,000 Illinoisans who could qualify. The state announced on Friday it expects CVS and Walgreens to have visited all sites to provide at least their first doses by Feb. They visit a third time for anyone who missed an earlier shot. The companies give second injections three to four weeks after the first shots. Under the plan, the pharmacies prioritize skilled-nursing facilities, then assisted-living and other congregate homes. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last fall contracted with CVS and Walgreens to inoculate people with ties to long-term care across the country. “The distribution of the vaccines to long-term care settings, where the most vulnerable population resides, is not fast enough and it must, must improve,” said Karen Messer, head of LeadingAge Illinois, which lobbies for 380 congregate-care sites, mostly nonprofits. “Walgreens has remained on track to immunize our most vulnerable populations,” wrote Phil Caruso, a spokesman of the Deerfield-based company.Ī CVS statement said company teams are “efficiently and methodically transporting vaccines to long-term care facilities and getting them in the arms of seniors” and that the injections “are increasing daily at an impressive rate.”Īs the pharmacy giants tout their performance, industry officials and public-health leaders are voicing alarm.

Any lower does not improve the print finish and higher adds an annoying minor washboard texture to the print surface. The extruder motor rotor is shorter and scaling the axis motor current you get a drive current of about 333ma. The axis motor currents can be 450ma any lower does not improve the print finish and at 475ma they start making noise. Measuring thread geometry is a good extrusion test and it quickly reveals temperature, layer height, filament brand, colour etc. It’s like a micrometer in that it measures the clearance between the printed nut and bolt threads. The steps/mm is the iterative result is from a printing nuts and bolts sliced with prusa. I also have the warranty replacement MK3 style but the prints were just not as good so I eventually repaired the original. Extrusion steps for the original MK2 extruder mechanism that has a filament release lever is 1650 steps/mm. I choose 256 micro stepping without interpolation. Could be sensor jitter or CPU capture jitter, anyway it is very repeatable if done extremely slowly.Īfter a bunch of tuning I converged on a few variables that might be useful to others. The resulting trigger position is very repeatable and any faster results in the inductive trigger position having 2 or more nearby but stable values. The homing is done in 2 passes, fast and an extremely slow second pass (F0.1). The diodes are wired so they can only pull down the Duet input pin while the inductive sensor output signal swings from 0.6V to 24V. Looking at the numbers I believe the lower forward diode voltage drop meets the worst case Duet input voltage thresholds, regardless it works fine. To interface the inductive sensors output to the Duet I used Schottky diodes. All three of my inductive sensors are stationery requiring Z be homed before Y, however, this keeps the accelerating mass down and the sensor wiring stationary. I choose inductive sensors for homing all the axes. I designed some parts for my Cetus Duet2 WIFI conversionĭon’t judge me but I started this about a year ago in the middle of some online configurator tool issues and had to modify the config files the hard way, much easier now.
